Woolwich Creative Club welcomed Councillor Adel Khaireh, the cabinet member for Equality, Culture, and Communities. This visit was particularly special as it followed the exciting news that the club had been awarded one of the council’s 67 voluntary and community sector grants
Councillor Khaireh arrived at our Vincent Road home to meet our talented students. First on the agenda was a tour of the many sections of students practising and learning their craft on an instrument or through their journalism and poetry. Our students played a selection of pieces impressing Councillor Khaireh with their passion and dedication. The beat of the drums, the melodies from the keyboards, and the strumming of the guitars filled the corridors, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
Councillor Khaireh took the time to speak with our students, offering words of encouragement and praise. He emphasised the importance of creative arts in fostering a vibrant, inclusive community and the pride associated with their achievements.
This visit was a significant milestone for Woolwich Creative Club. The grant from the council is a testament to the hard work and creativity of our students and tutors. With this support, we are excited to expand our programs, host more events, and continue to nurture the artistic talents of our community.
We are incredibly grateful to Councillor Adel Khaireh for his visit and to the council for their generous grant. Together, we are building a brighter, more creative future for Woolwich. Stay tuned for more updates and events as we continue to grow and thrive!
